Heavy rains are causing major disruptions in Tamil Nadu. The districts of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi have experienced widespread flooding as a result of heavy rains on December 18. The Indian Army and Air Force have launched rescue efforts in response to the crisis. there has been abnormally high rainfall in 39 areas of southern Tamil Nadu. Forecasts for December 19 in districts like Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Tenkasi indicate that the heavy rains will continue.
