North West India weather update.
Due to the presence of a fresh western disturbance over Jammu and adjoining area.
The only source of rainfall and snowfall in the hills of north India are extratropical storms known as western disturbances (WDs).
These form in the Mediterranean region and travel eastward to northern Bangladesh and south-eastern Nepal.
Western Disturbances are most common during the winter months (November to March), but they can also occur during the pre-monsoon season (April to June).
Under the influence of this moderate to isolate moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorm is possible in next 24 to 48 hours.
