Severe Weather Activities likely to brush over the Northeastern States - Wet week ahead

Current Conditions -
States of North East India witnessing heavy rain from the past few days started from May 2nd. The Southern States like Tripura, Mizoram and Southern Assam are in the main threat zone while the Southern parts of Meghalaya like Mawkyrwat, Cherrapunji, Anlarem are witnessing heavy rain. Yesterday Kolasib in Mizoram recorded gusty winds of 91 Kph from a Severe Nor'wester which developed over the Eastern plains of Bangladesh and adjoining Tripura. Agartala, Capital of Tripura also experienced gusty winds of 80 Kph from the similar cell, while Intense hailstorm activities were observed over Churachandpur, Manipur. On May 2nd a Severe Thundersquall over Arunachal Pradesh produced a cloud burst at Nari, causing 149 mm of rain over an hour with an extremely heavy rainfall rate (214 mm/h)
A Cyclonic Circulation over Assam between 1.5 km to 3.1 km attached by a Convergence trough line with its end over a circulation in Jharkhand causing a confluence zone of wet & humid southerlies in low level and Westerlies in mid to upper level. This confluence of winds feeding moisture regularly & creating favorable conditions of cell development over Eastern Bangladesh and North East India. The cells are intense to very intense with Cloud top temperature reaching up to minus 80°C and causing intense thunderstorms. The formation are also favored by the orographic upliftment due to the short distance between the hills of North east India and Bay of Bengal.
What to expect?
In the next few days fairly widespread to widespread thundershower activities along with gale force gusty winds of 65 kph or above, intense to extremely heavy showers, hailstorm activities will be seen mainly on Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam with heavy to very heavy rain in Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam.
The activities will continue in Tripura, Southern Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur for the next 1-2 days. After that the activities might see a break for 1-2 days before the second round of activities starts. Extremely heavy showers in the Mountainous terrain could cause flash flooding while gale force gusty winds will cause disruption in communication services, could damage huts, weak infrastructure or communication towers. Flash flooding could lead to damage in roads too while intense lightning could cause fatalities. It will also harm the seasonal crops like rice, paddy or tea in the Assam valley & disrupt daily lifestyle
People are advised not to stay outside during intense thunderstorm activities & stay connected with the official weather updates. This cell would be accompanied by strong dusty surface winds of 40-90 kph, intense thundershower activities, life threatening hailstorm, flash flooding, intense to extremely heavy showers, even cloudburst or near similar conditions
The showers will mainly take place from afternoon to midnight, so people are advised to be more careful during that time, not to stay in open ground or connected with any electronic device during intense lightning strikes, while stay inside of home during intense showers, hailstorm or strong gusty winds.
