Meteora Weather Service has issued a significant weather forecast highlighting widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and the gradual withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from several regions of India. The coming days are expected to witness varying weather conditions across the southern, eastern, central, and western parts of the country.

South Peninsular India

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected at several isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 13th October, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in some areas. Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe are also likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall between 13th and 19th October.
Rain activity will continue over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during 13th–16th October, while Lakshadweep may see active weather conditions around 17th–18th October.
Strong winds (30–40 km/h) accompanied by lightning are also expected across the region during the next 4–5 days.

East and Central India

Moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are expected over Odisha on 13th October, with chances of isolated heavy rainfall.
Thunderstorms with lightning are also likely over Chhattisgarh (13th–15th October), Vidarbha (14th–16th October), and Odisha (14th–15th October).

West India

Active weather conditions are forecast for Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada regions. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely between 14th–17th October, indicating continued post-monsoon rainfall activity.

The line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon has now advanced through Karwar, Kalburgi, Nizamabad, Kanker, Keonjhargarh, Sagar Island, Guwahati, and nearby regions, marking a steady retreat of monsoon conditions.
The monsoon has further withdrawn from several regions including parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, as well as most parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim. Conditions remain favorable for further withdrawal over the next 2–3 days from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and the northeastern states.


đŸŒĒ️ Current Atmospheric Systems

  • An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over central Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Assam, and Southwest Bay of Bengal, extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

  • Another system lies over the west-central Arabian Sea, maintaining instability and aiding convective rainfall in coastal and nearby inland regions.
