Own Correspondent: After overcoming the influence of strong western disturbance, the cold is intensifying in the hilly regions of North West India. After a series of heavy snowfalls, westerly squalls and intermittent rains have started over North West India.Sunny rainless dry weather and severe to severe cold current will prevail over several parts of Janmu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next 3 days.On February 8, the minimum temperature fell below zero degree Celsius in large areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Pulyama. Severe cold and ground frost-like conditions may develop in the hilly areas of North West India in the morning.The lowest temperature recorded at Sonmarg was -13.1°C on 8th February.The minimum temperature will drop further in the next 3 days in the hilly regions of North West India. Along with this, the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh will feel extremely cold. Cold northerly winds and cold currents will blow.
