After a brief period heavy rainfall once again made its comeback over the Northeast India as heavy rainfall occurred over Assam & Tripura. Dhubri in Assam recorded 115 mm rainfall on Jun 9th while nearby Kokrajhar recorded 84 mm rainfall. In Tripura Khumluang recorded 112 mm heavy rainfall with surrounding areas like Kailashahar recorded 80 mm of heavy rainfall, while Dharamnagar recorded 71 mm of rainfall. A east west trough over the foothills of Eastern Himalaya embedded with active circulation & due to the support of ample amount of moisture from the humid Southerlies of Bay of Bengal the condition will go similar to what it was. This situation will cause widespread heavy rainfall over the entire Northeast with heavy rainfall around everywhere & very heavy rainfall in the northern area where the monsoon cloud will cause more rainfall as they'll be walled out by the Great Himalaya or Shillong plateau. Also Assam valley will recive heavy rainfall as the cloud will get sandwiched by the Greater Himalaya & Shillong Plateau & will cause rainfall there.
This will lead to worse the flood conditions further over the Assam valley where 25 death already occurred & 3.5 lacs people get affected over the 11 districts of Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Hailakandi, Karbi-Anglong, West Karbi-Anglong, Dima Hasao, Karimganj, Cachar, Hojai, and Golaghat due to the swelling effect in the river valley of cacher & surma from the major rivers like Barak, Kopili, Cacher, Surma etc. This thing could further disrupt transport & communication service which will cause more bad conditions by separating those people who will get affected by it for a long period of time. Stay safe & stay updated for that always.
