The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed weather advisory for the period 12th to 18th July, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong surface winds across multiple regions of India. Here's a comprehensive region-wise breakdown of the expected weather conditions:
đ Northwest India:
Residents in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad can expect isolated heavy rainfall from 14th to 16th July. Himachal Pradesh will experience similar conditions from 13th to 16th July, and Uttarakhand from 12th to 18th July.
On 16th July, Punjab is likely to receive showers, while Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi may see rainfall on 14th. Uttar Pradesh is expected to get very heavy rainfall on 12th, 13th, 16th & 17th, and East Uttar Pradesh from 14th to 17th July.
Other areas on alert include East Rajasthan (12th–14th July) and West Rajasthan (13th–15th July), both forecasted to experience very heavy rainfall during this period.
Thunderstorm and lightning activity is expected to continue across the western Himalayan region and several plains of North India.
đž East & Central India:
Monsoon conditions remain active over Madhya Pradesh, with very heavy rainfall forecasted from 12th to 14th July. The rains will continue in Chhattisgarh from 12th to 16th July, and in Bihar from 15th to 17th July.
Jharkhand and Odisha will also face active rainfall between 13th–15th July, while West Bengal & Sikkim are likely to see showers from 13th to 15th July.
Expect thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds throughout East and Central India over the next 7 days.

The Konkan & Goa region is on alert for heavy rainfall from 12th–15th July. Gujarat Region will experience showers between 12th–16th July, with very heavy rainfall on 13th & 14th July.
Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Saurashtra will also see isolated heavy spells on 13th July. Rainfall at many places is expected to persist for the next 5 days.
⛰️ Northeast India:
The Northeast continues to face light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across most areas.
Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are forecasted to receive isolated heavy rainfall from 12th to 18th July, while Arunachal Pradesh is likely to see significant showers from 14th to 18th July.

Monsoon activity remains active over the southern peninsula as well. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over:

Isolated pockets of Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema are expected to experience hot and humid weather on 12th & 13th July.
