The Indian subcontinent is bracing for a week filled with intense monsoon activity as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a widespread alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across various regions from 11th to 17th July. Here's a detailed outlook region-wise:


🌄 Northwest India:

  • Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh from 11th–17th July.

  • Jammu-Kashmir will experience heavy spells during the same period.

  • West Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive rainfall from 11th–15th July, while East Uttar Pradesh will see very heavy rainfall on 11th July.

  • South Haryana may witness isolated downpours on 11th July, and East Rajasthan from 11th–15th July.

🏝️ West India:

  • Konkan & Goa will be lashed by heavy rainfall on 11th and 13th–15th July.

  • Gujarat will face intense showers between 12th–17th July, while Ghat areas of Maharashtra are in focus on 13th & 14th July.

  • Saurashtra will see significant rain activity on 13th July.

  • Most of West India will experience moderate to heavy rainfall through the week.


⛰️ Northeast India:

  • Assam & Meghalaya are under alert for isolated heavy rainfall from 12th–17th July.

  • Mizoram & Tripura will experience intense rain between 13th–15th July, and Arunachal Pradesh from 14th–17th July.

  • Almost all of Northeast India will face light/moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.


🌴 South Peninsular India:

  • Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall during 11th–17th July.

  • Strong surface winds (40–50 kmph) are highly likely across the region for the next three days.

  • Scattered to moderate rain likely over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana.

  • East Assam will face hot and humid conditions on 11th & 12th July.
