⚠️ Widespread Heavy Rainfall Expected Across Multiple Indian Regions This Week

As the monsoon intensifies, several parts of India are expected to experience heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the coming days. From the southern peninsular states to central, western, and northeastern regions, weather patterns suggest a turbulent week ahead. Below is a regional breakdown of expected conditions:

🌧️ South Peninsular India:

Residents of Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala & Mahe should prepare for intense rainfall.

  • Extremely heavy rain is likely in Telangana on 23rd July.

  • Heavy to very heavy rain may drench Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana between 23rd–29th July.

  • Strong surface winds of up to 50 km/h are expected over the next 5 days.

  • Light to moderate rainfall will cover much of Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana through the week.

🌩️ West India:

The Konkan coast and Madhya Maharashtra are bracing for heavy downpours.

  • Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Ghats of Madhya Maharashtra on 24th & 25th July.

  • Heavy to very heavy rain may fall over Goa, Marathwada, Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch during 23rd–29th July, with peak activity around 27th & 28th July.

🌧️ East & Central India:

Several central and eastern states will witness consistent rainfall throughout the week.

  • Extremely heavy rainfall is forecasted for Odisha on 25th July.

  • Isolated heavy rains will affect Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim during 23rd–28th July.

  • Notably intense rainfall will occur in East & West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh between 25th–27th July and in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal around 24th & 25th July.

  • Thunderstorms with lightning and winds up to 40 km/h may hit Bihar on 24th & 25th July.

🌨️ Northwest India:

Scattered intense weather will affect Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan.

  • Very heavy rainfall is expected in Jammu-Kashmir and East Rajasthan around 23rd and 27th–28th July.

  • States like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan will also witness heavy showers during the same period.

  • Light to moderate rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in the Western Himalayas.

🌦️ Northeast India:

  • Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms will continue over the region for the next 7 days.

  • Isolated heavy rain is also likely, bringing relief and challenges in equal measure.
