Widespread Rainfall Likely Across India as Multiple Weather Systems Remain Active
Several parts of India are set to experience widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over the next few days, as multiple weather systems continue to influence the country's atmospheric conditions.
In East and Central India, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely at many places, with isolated heavy rainfall expected over the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 1st and 2nd November. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are expected over Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the next five days, while similar activity is likely across Odisha, West Bengal, East Madhya Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh during the first week of November.
West India will also witness an active spell of rain, with heavy rainfall likely over Konkan, Goa, north Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat State on 1st November. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds will persist over Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa till 5th November. Particularly, Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra may see thunderstorm activity on 4th and 5th November due to moisture inflow from the Arabian Sea.
In Northeast India, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely at many places, with isolated heavy rainfall predicted over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 1st November. Thunderstorm and lightning activity will continue across the region for the next couple of days.
For Northwest India, the approaching Western Disturbance will bring a fresh round of rain and snowfall over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad during 4th–6th November. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are expected over the higher reaches, while East Rajasthan and West Rajasthan may see thunderstorm activity on 3rd and 4th November.
Overall, the first week of November will be marked by active weather conditions across most parts of India, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds posing risks of localized flooding, power disruptions, and travel delays.
