East India is battering by Heatwaves conditions for the past few days. Temparature has crossed 40°C in most places of the Bihar & isolated places of Jharkhand & Gangetic West Bengal. Capital city Patna recorded 42.7°C yesterday while Daltongunj in Jharkhand crossed 43°C. However condition is likely going to change soon as a deep low likely to form over Northern India from which a lower level trough will extend up to Choto Nagpur Plateau & further possibly till Assam while it will be joined by another north south trough from Gangetic West Bengal to Sikkim. This feature will strengthen the Southerlies over the Bay again, causing the circulation over Assam to strengthen again. This will cause moisture intrusion over Eastern India which will collide over the trough to the northwesterly dry winds forming intense thunder squall over Choto Nagpur Plateau. This storm will then move towards East. Thunderstorm from Bangladesh could also joined with the cells coming from Jharkhand. Thunderstorm from the foothills pf Nepal Himalaya will also affect fairly widespread areas of Bihar which would move southeast further. Under this conditions fairly widespread rainfall activities expected over West Bengal. The foothills & the Darjeeling & Adjoining Sikkim Himalaya could recive heavy rainfall.
Some activities had already seen yesterday over Jharkhand as the capital Ranchi recorded winds of 70 Kph from a Nor'wester. Other areas like Simdega, Barhi, Khunti, Bokaro, Hazaribagh also recorded winds between 45-55 Kph while on the other side over Satkhira, Bangladesh a Tornado destroyed nearly 150 houses & reportedly killed a person. This activities will spread further & will heavily affect the Gangetic plains, specifically Bihar & West Bengal. This areas could see Nor'wester activities with gale force winds, hailstorm, intense cloud to ground lightning, intense showers etc. This storm will give relief from the ongoing heat wave but also cause heavy damage to property & could kill people. The activity expected to see a drop from 22nd May due to a probable Depression over Bay of Bengal which will gather its strength by pulling moisture from all directions to its center. However rainfall activities expected to peak again from the weekend as the system will approach the Eastern coast of India resulting fairly widespread showers again over the coastal places of Gangetic West Bengal & entire odisha from its outer bands. In the awake of this weeklong weather activities people need to be more careful. Its advised to not to venture out on the coast or sea due to the approach of the system over Northwest Bay while farmers are advised not to work on the paddy fields during the approach of a Nor'wester Or Thunderstorm as lightning from that could cause serious damage. During this severe weather events its also advised not to seek shelter in any weak infrastructure or under a big tree as collapsing of wall or lightning strike over the tree will also cause serious damage.
