The monsoon continues to make its strong presence felt across India, with widespread rainfall, isolated heavy to very heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and rising humidity dominating the week ahead. From the Himalayan foothills to the southern coastline, multiple regions are on alert for significant weather events between 30th June and 6th July.


🟦 East & Central India: Monsoon in Full Swing

Several states in East and Central India are expected to experience consistent rainfall activity, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall across:

  • Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh from 30th June to 6th July

  • Bihar and Odisha from 30th June to 4th July

  • Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal on 30th June, 1st July, and again from 4th to 6th July

  • Very heavy rain alerts for Madhya Pradesh on 30th June, 1st, 4th & 5th July

  • East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on 30th June, 1st, 3rd & 4th July

  • Bihar from 30th June to 2nd July

  • Odisha from 30th June to 3rd July

Widespread thunderstorm activity with lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) is also forecast across the region for the entire week.


🟦 Northwest India: Unstable Weather with Strong Storms

Heavy monsoon activity is expected to extend into the northwestern parts of the country:

  • Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan from 30th June to 6th July

  • Haryana and Chandigarh may see heavy rain on 30th June, 1st–2nd July, and again on 5th–6th July

  • West Rajasthan from 3rd–6th July

  • Very heavy rainfall expected over Uttarakhand and West UP on 30th June and 1st July

  • Additional alerts for Himachal, Punjab, Haryana on 30th June and East Rajasthan on 5th July

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) will continue across the region during the week.


🟦 West India: Coastal & Ghat Areas on Rain Watch

  • Expect heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places across Konkan & Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Gujarat state over the next 7 days.

These intense spells could lead to waterlogging in urban zones and disruptions along coastal roads and hilly terrains.


🟩 Northeast India: More Downpours Ahead

Rain will persist over the Northeast throughout the week:

  • Light to moderate rainfall at most locations

  • Thunderstorms and lightning expected frequently

  • Very heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 2nd and 3rd July

  • Another bout of very heavy rain is forecast for Assam and Meghalaya on 6th July

Travelers and locals are advised to stay alert for possible landslides and flash floods in hilly regions.


🟨 South Peninsular India: Stormy Winds & Isolated Heavy Rain

Rainfall activity continues across southern India, with isolated heavy showers forecast for:

  • Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana on 30th June

  • Kerala & Mahe between 2nd and 4th July

  • Coastal Karnataka throughout the week (30th June–6th July)

  • Interior Karnataka from 3rd to 5th July

Expect strong surface winds (40–50 kmph) over the entire southern peninsula.

Widespread moderate rainfall will continue across Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Coastal Karnataka, with isolated thunderstorms over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Rayalaseema.


🔥 Hot & Humid Weather Warning:

  • Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Rayalaseema will face hot and humid conditions during 30th June–2nd July.

  • Daytime discomfort is expected to increase due to high temperatures and moisture levels.
