🌧️ Heavy Rainfall Likely Over Central & Western India This Week: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat & Rajasthan on Alert

As the monsoon strengthens its grip over the subcontinent, a fresh spell of intense rainfall is expected to impact Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan in the coming 7 days. This wet phase brings a mix of widespread showers, localized heavy downpours, and stormy weather for large parts of central and western India.

🌩️ Madhya Pradesh Braces for a Week of Soaking Rain

Madhya Pradesh is expected to be the core zone of heavy rainfall during this period. With multiple weather systems influencing the region, rainfall may occur daily, with some days bringing very heavy downpours, especially in the eastern and southern districts.

Commuters and farmers should plan accordingly as flooding in low-lying areas and disruptions in outdoor activities could occur due to intense showers.

⛈️ Chhattisgarh: Isolated Heavy Spells in the East and South

While most parts of Chhattisgarh will receive light to moderate rainfall, eastern and southern pockets may experience isolated heavy showers, particularly during the midweek. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds could accompany the rain, especially in the afternoons and evenings.

🌊 Gujarat: Coastal and Southern Areas on Watch

Parts of South Gujarat and the coastal belt, including the Konkan extension zone, are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated spots. This may cause waterlogging in urban areas and hazardous driving conditions along coastal roads.

The Saurashtra and Kutch regions may also see scattered rainfall but with lower intensity compared to the southern districts.

🌧️ Rajasthan: Rainfall Picks Up, Especially in the East

Eastern Rajasthan, particularly areas adjoining Madhya Pradesh, may witness heavy rainfall events in the next few days. West Rajasthan, though generally drier, is also likely to receive moderate showers later in the week. Localized heavy rainfall could occur, especially around 3rd to 6th July, increasing the chance of runoff and flash flooding in dry riverbeds and desert channels.

⚠️ What to Expect

  • đŸŒŦ️ Gusty winds (30–40 kmph) may accompany thunderstorms.

  • ⚡ Lightning risk remains high during evening hours.

  • 🚧 Localized flooding, slippery roads, and reduced visibility during downpours are possible.

  • 🌾 Agriculture activities may be disrupted; however, the rainfall could be beneficial for kharif crop sowing.

🛑 Stay Alert. Stay Safe.

With active monsoon conditions expected to persist over Central and Western India this week, residents are advised to stay updated with local forecasts, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, and take precautions against waterlogging and lightning.
