West India

  • Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over North Konkan (including Mumbai), South Gujarat State, and Madhya Maharashtra on 19th & 20th August. Saurashtra & Kutch will also see intense showers during 19th–21st August.

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan (including Mumbai), and Goa during 19th–21st August, and across Gujarat during 19th–22nd August.

  • Isolated heavy rainfall is also predicted over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat State during the week, with Marathwada likely affected on 19th August.

  • Strong surface winds reaching 40–50 kmph are likely over the region till 22nd August.

  • Widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected across most places in the region for the next 7 days.

South Peninsular India

  • Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast over North Telangana on 19th August.

  • Heavy rainfall is likely over Coastal Karnataka, Telangana (19th & 20th August), Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Interior Karnataka (19th August).

  • Particularly severe spells of very heavy rainfall are expected over South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Karnataka on 19th August.

    • Vidarbha on 19th, 20th, 24th & 25th August.

    • Odisha on 19th & 21st–23rd August.

    • Jharkhand on 19th & 22nd August.

    • Bihar on 22nd & 23rd August.

    • Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh likely to face isolated very heavy rainfall during 23rd–25th August.

Northwest India

  • Heavy rainfall is expected over Jammu & Kashmir during 22nd–24th August, and across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana during the week.

  • Very heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for:

    • Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh during 23rd–25th August.

    • East Uttar Pradesh during 22nd–24th August.

  • Thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall will continue across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for the next 7 days.

Northeast India

The northeastern states remain under continuous rainfall alerts:

  • Heavy rainfall is likely to persist across Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh during the next week.

  • Very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya during 20th–25th August.
