🌧️ Heavy Rainfall to Lash Multiple Regions Across India — Issued by Meteora Weather Service

Widespread rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across several regions of India in the coming days, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over parts of South Peninsular, East-Central, and Northeast India as per the latest Meteora Weather Service update.

South Peninsular India:

Several southern states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema are set to receive light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms from 25th to 30th October.

  • Heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Mahe, and Coastal Karnataka between 25th–28th October.

  • Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) is expected at isolated places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 27th–28th October and Rayalaseema during the same period.

  • Thunderstorms with gusty winds (30–40 km/h) may also occur in these areas during the next five days.

East & Central India:

Light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activities are likely in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal.

  • Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible over Odisha between 27th–29th October and Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 25th–26th October.

  • Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) may occur at isolated locations in Odisha on 28th–29th October.

  • Gusty winds (30–50 km/h) are expected over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during the period.

West India:

Rain and thunderstorms are likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Saurashtra, especially between 25th–28th October.

  • Very heavy rainfall is possible over Saurashtra on 26th October.

  • Thunderstorms with lightning are expected over the western region for the next 4–5 days.

Northeast India:

The northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh will also experience light to moderate rainfall during 29th–31st October, with some isolated heavy rainfall expected.

Northwest India:

The northwestern plains including Rajasthan are likely to see light to moderate rainfall between 26th–28th October, with heavy rain at isolated locations over East and Southwest Rajasthan on 27th October.

Residents in the above regions are advised to stay alert, avoid waterlogged zones, and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and heavy rainfall spells. Coastal and hilly regions should especially remain vigilant for potential flooding or landslide risks.
