Issued by: Meteora Weather Service | Date: 26th October 2025
India is set to witness significant weather changes in the coming days, as multiple weather systems are developing over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. The latest meteorological analysis highlights the likelihood of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across several regions, including South Peninsular India, East-Central India, and parts of the Northeast and West Coast.
đĒ️ Meteorological Highlights
A Deep Depression has formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal, moving northwestwards at 5 km/h. As of 26th October (1130 hrs IST), it was centered near 11.3°N and 87.0°E, around 620 km west of Port Blair and 810 km southeast of Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh).
This system is expected to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal within 12 hours and further strengthen into a Severe Cyclonic Storm by morning of 28th October. The system is likely to move northwestwards and cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam during the evening or night of 28th October, with wind speeds of 90–100 km/h gusting to 110 km/h.
Simultaneously, another Depression over the east-central Arabian Sea is moving nearly south-southwestwards at 20 km/h. Located about 790 km southwest of Mumbai, it is expected to move initially southward and then southeastward, influencing rainfall across coastal Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka in the next 24 hours.
A trough extends from west Madhya Pradesh to south Gujarat, while a Western Disturbance lies as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies near 61°E to north of 28°N.
