đĻ️ Active Weather Across Southern and Northeastern India — Cooler Conditions Ahead
The Meteora Weather Service reports that several weather systems continue to influence India, bringing rainfall, thunderstorms, and a gradual fall in temperatures across many regions. A low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh coast is gradually weakening but still impacting the eastern and southern weather patterns.
đ§️ South Peninsular India:
Widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected across the southern states.
-
Tamil Nadu will see frequent showers with isolated heavy rainfall between 5th and 8th November, supported by moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal.
-
Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh are likely to witness light to moderate rain till 9th November, while Coastal and North Interior Karnataka may see scattered thunderstorms on 5th November.
-
South Interior Karnataka will experience rainfall till 7th November, and Telangana may face gusty winds up to 40 km/h with lightning on 5th November.
These conditions are expected to continue under the influence of the trough extending from the Bay of Bengal to north Kerala, which maintains an active convective zone over southern India.
đĻ️ West India:
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely over Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra on 5th November. While rainfall will be short-lived, it may provide temporary relief from the post-monsoon warmth.
đ§️ East & Northeast India:
The low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal continues to bring thunderstorms with lightning across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 5th November.
-
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura could see isolated heavy rainfall, while Andaman & Nicobar Islands are expected to experience gusty winds (30–40 km/h) along with thunderstorms.
-
The associated cyclonic circulation is likely to weaken gradually, with rainfall intensity reducing after 24 hours.
đŦ️ Synoptic Systems and Meteorological Features:
-
The well-marked low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal has weakened into a low-pressure area, likely to move north-northwestwards and become less marked soon.
-
The upper air cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and neighboring areas continues to influence local weather.
-
A western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over North Pakistan and Punjab, extending up to 4.5 km above sea level.
-
Another trough runs from southwest Bay of Bengal to north Kerala, fueling rainfall activity across Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka.
-
Upper air circulations over the Bay of Bengal (off Andhra Pradesh coast) and North Haryana have weakened but still provide mild support to localized weather events.
đĄ️ Forecast of Temperature:
-
Northwest India is likely to see a fall in minimum temperatures by 3–5°C over the next 3 days, followed by stable conditions.
-
Central India will also experience a 2–4°C drop in minimum temperatures, leading to cooler mornings and nights.
☁️ Weather Outlook for the Next 3 Days:
Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Other parts of the country will remain mostly dry with comfortable temperatures.
The Meteora Weather Service advises residents, particularly in southern and northeastern states, to stay alert for lightning, gusty winds, and brief heavy rainfall during this active phase. Meanwhile, cooler weather is gradually setting in across northern and central India, marking the transition towards the winter season.
