Along with rain activity, a gradual drop in temperatures by 2–4°C is expected across many northern and central parts of the country, signaling the early onset of cooler winter conditions.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40–50 km/h) are likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on 4th November. Following this, a gradual fall of 2–4°C in minimum temperatures is expected over the region within the next 3–4 days, marking a noticeable cooling trend as the western disturbances move eastward.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur over Konkan & Goa on 5th and 6th November, while Madhya Maharashtra is expected to experience such activity during 4th to 7th November. These areas may see short, intense spells of rain along with moderate wind gusts, offering relief from the dry post-monsoon heat.

East Madhya Pradesh is expected to witness thunderstorms and lightning on 4th November, which could bring brief rainfall and localized cooling. However, no major rainfall system is anticipated afterward.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning on 4th and 5th November. These activities may be accompanied by light to moderate rainfall in isolated pockets. Residents are advised to stay alert for sudden lightning and brief downpours.

Widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected over most southern states through the week.

  • Tamil Nadu will see isolated heavy rainfall between 4th and 6th November, particularly over coastal areas.

  • Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema will experience thunderstorms and rainfall from 4th to 6th November.

  • North Interior Karnataka will get moderate rain on 4th and 5th November, while South Interior Karnataka will continue to see rain till 7th November.

  • Coastal Karnataka will witness rain and lightning on 6th and 7th November, and Telangana will see lightning and gusty winds (30–40 km/h) on 4th November.

These weather systems are associated with moisture inflow from the Arabian Sea and local convective activity over the southern peninsula.
