As July begins, India is set to witness widespread monsoon activity with intensified rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds sweeping across the country. Here's a complete regional breakdown of the weather forecast and warnings for the week of 30th June to 6th July:


🌧️ East & Central India: Heavy Rainfall and Stormy Conditions

The monsoon surge will bring isolated heavy rainfall across Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Vidarbha, and Gangetic West Bengal. Some of the heaviest spells are expected in Madhya Pradesh (30th June, 1st, 4th & 5th July) and East MP and Chhattisgarh (30th June, 1st, 3rd & 4th July).

  • Bihar will see heavy rainfall between 30th June and 2nd July, while Odisha is in for consistent showers until the 3rd of July.

  • Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) will accompany the rain across the entire region throughout the week.


🌩️ Northwest India: Strong Rainfall Activity with Severe Thunderstorms

  • Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan will witness isolated heavy rainfall throughout the week.

  • West Rajasthan is set for showers between 3rd–6th July, while very heavy rainfall is expected over Uttarakhand and West UP on 30th June & 1st July.

  • Himachal, Punjab, and Haryana may also see intense rainfall on 30th June, and East Rajasthan on 5th July.

  • The region will also experience thunderstorm activity with gusty winds up to 30–40 kmph.


🌊 West India: Heavy Rainfall Alert in Coastal & Hilly Areas

Heavy to very heavy showers are likely to lash Konkan & Goa, the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Gujarat throughout the week. Commuters and residents in these areas should be cautious of potential flooding or waterlogging.


Northeast India: Very Heavy Rainfall Mid-Week

  • Expect consistent light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms across the Northeast.

  • Very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 2nd and 3rd July, with another round over Assam and Meghalaya on 6th July.

  • Lightning and stormy winds may also occur during this period.
