India Weather Alert: Widespread Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Likely Across Multiple Regions (07th–13th July)
As the monsoon advances across the country, several regions in India are set to experience intense weather activity over the coming days. The upcoming week (07th to 13th July) will bring significant rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across East, Central, and Northwest India, along with parts of the South and Northeast.
🌧️ East & Central India: Prepare for Downpour
Extremely heavy rainfall (above 21 cm) is very likely at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha on 07th July. Isolated heavy rain will persist in Madhya Pradesh during 07th–13th July. Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha will also see active rain spells, especially on 07th & 08th. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will face heavy rainfall on 07th, 09th, 12th & 13th July. Odisha and West Bengal may see intense rain during 07th & 08th, while Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha brace for heavy showers on 08th & 09th.
⛈️ Northwest India: Widespread Heavy Rain with Localized Intensity
Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh from 07th to 10th July. East Uttar Pradesh will also be affected between 08th and 10th. Very heavy rainfall is especially likely over Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan from 07th to 10th, and over Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on 07th & 08th July.
🌊 West India: Coastal and Inland Showers
Konkan & Goa and the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during the next 7 days. Gujarat may experience heavy rainfall on 07th, with the Gujarat region also affected during 07th–09th. Marathawada districts could be soaked on 08th & 09th, while Saurashtra and Kutch may get heavy rain on 12th & 13th July.
🌦️ Northeast India: Persistent Rains to Continue
Heavy rainfall is expected to persist over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during 07th–13th July. Arunachal Pradesh will join the wet spell from 11th–13th July, with very heavy rainfall specifically over Meghalaya on 07th July.
🌬️ South Peninsular India: Rain and Strong Winds
Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and the Mahe region are likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall during 07th–13th July. Telangana is forecast to receive isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall between 07th–09th July. Additionally, strong surface winds with speeds of 40-50 km/h are very likely over this region in the next five days.
☀️ Hot and Humid Conditions in the South
Apart from rainfall, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from 07th to 09th July, adding discomfort despite the seasonal showers in other regions.
