Certain regions are expected to witness extremely heavy rainfall, which may lead to flooding, waterlogging, and travel disruptions.

West India

• Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa during 16th–18th August, Madhya Maharashtra (17th & 18th), and Gujarat Region (18th August).

• Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, and Gujarat State during the next 7 days, with very heavy rainfall over Konkan & Goa from 15th–19th August.

• Heavy showers are also expected over the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra & Gujarat Region (16th–21st), Marathawada (15th & 18th), and Saurashtra & Kutch (18th–20th).

• Light to moderate rainfall will continue across many areas for the next 5 days.

Northwest India

• Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over East Rajasthan & Uttarakhand during the next 7 days, Himachal Pradesh (15th–20th), Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad (15th, 17th & 18th), Punjab (15th–19th), Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi (15th–18th), West Uttar Pradesh (16th & 21st), and East Uttar Pradesh (20th–21st).

• Very heavy rainfall is expected over Uttarakhand (16th & 17th) and East Rajasthan (18th & 19th).

• Thunderstorms and lightning will accompany rainfall in many parts during the week.

• Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh throughout the week, Vidarbha (except 19th), Andaman & Nicobar Islands (15th), and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim (17th–18th & 21st).

• Isolated very heavy rainfall is possible over East Madhya Pradesh (15th), West Madhya Pradesh (15th, 16th, 18th & 19th), and Chhattisgarh (15th & during 19th–21st August).

• Light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places for the next 5 days.

South Peninsular India

• Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Coastal Karnataka & Telangana during the next 7 days, North Interior Karnataka (15th & 19th), Kerala & Mahe and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (15th–18th), and South Interior Karnataka (18th & 19th).

• Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Telangana (15th–19th), Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (17th & 18th), and Coastal Karnataka (18th & 19th).

• Strong surface winds (40–50 km/h) are likely over parts of South Peninsular India till 19th August.

• Very heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura (20th & 21st), and over Assam & Meghalaya (16th, 20th & 21st).

• Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms & lightning is likely in many parts during the next 3 days.
