🌧️ India Monsoon Update: Heavy Rainfall Alerts for Multiple Regions (9th–15th August)

The Meteora Weather Service has issued fresh alerts for significant rainfall activity across several parts of India from 9th to 15th August 2025. Multiple regions are set to witness heavy to very heavy downpours, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, impacting travel, agriculture, and daily activities.


Northwest India:

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh on 9th, 10th & 15th and Uttarakhand on 9th & 11th. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi may experience showers on 9th & 10th.
East Uttar Pradesh can expect rain on 9th, 10th, 14th & 15th, while West Uttar Pradesh is on alert for the 9th, 10th, 12th & 15th. East Rajasthan will see rain on 9th & 15th August.

⚠️ Very heavy rainfall is forecast for Jammu & Kashmir from 13th–15th, Himachal Pradesh during 11th–14th, and Uttarakhand on 10th & 11th–14th. West Uttar Pradesh may get intense showers on 13th & 14th, and East Uttar Pradesh on 12th & 13th.


Northeast India:

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning will continue across the region.

  • Heavy rainfall is likely in Arunachal Pradesh on 9th, 10th & 13th; Assam & Meghalaya from 9th–15th; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 9th, 10th and 12th–15th.

  • Very heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh on 11th & 12th.


South Peninsular India:

  • Heavy rainfall is forecast for Tamil Nadu & Rayalaseema on 9th, Karnataka on 14th & 15th, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th & 15th, Rayalaseema again on 9th & 15th, and Telangana from 9th–12th August.

  • Very heavy rainfall is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 14th and Telangana during 13th–15th August.

  • Strong winds (40–50 km/h) are likely across the southern peninsula over the next 2 days.


East & Central India:

  • Heavy rainfall is expected over West Madhya Pradesh on 9th, 10th & 14th; East Madhya Pradesh from 11th–13th; Vidarbha on 12th & 13th; and Chhattisgarh on 11th & 12th.

  • Very heavy rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 11th & 12th and Odisha on 12th & 13th.

  • Other affected areas include Andaman & Nicobar Islands (11th & 12th), Gangetic West Bengal (13th & 14th), Bihar (9th–13th), Jharkhand (13th), and Odisha (9th, 14th & 15th).


West India:

  • Heavy rainfall is expected over Madhya Maharashtra on 9th, 14th & 15th, while Konkan & Goa may experience intense showers from 13th–15th August.
